Camry LE 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

I bought 2012 Toyota Camry on 12/2012. The audio display started to blank out on May 2014. Initially it happened once in a while, then it became more frequently. And finally it totally blank out in July. I called dealer on June 2012, they told me that I'm not covered because warranty is under 36,000 miles and I have mileage about 40,000 at that time. The Warranty is 2 years or 36,000 mile, my car is under 2 years but over 36,000 miles. The audio display has nothing to do with mileage, how could the manufacture disqualify me from warranty using mileage that has nothing to do audio display? I'm a very unhappy customer.

Camry XLE 2.5L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,450 miles

Bought a brand new Toyota Camry 2012 XLE in December 2012. Once I started to learn how to use the navigational system I encountered several glitches. At first it would not connect to my phone. I replaced the cell phone with an LG phone. Now it connects and SOME of the features work. I still have problems with the phone connecting on occasion but I am living with that. Some times the Traffic reports takes a long time to load (10 minutes or more.) sometimes not at all. I do not use Bing Traffic report much though.

The new problem started in Oct 2013 that I am concerned about. The radio stopped displaying the title and artist info on the FM (HD) radio station I listen to most. At first I thought it was the stations. But I was in my PU and noticed that the PU radio DID display the information.

I took my 2012 Camry to the dealer in Fort Worth and at first the service writer tried to tell me it was "just what happens sometimes." He told me it was the weather and climate etc. I persisted. It has not displayed the info for over a month. He talked to the warranty admin and she suggested getting a new Camry off the lot with the same radio in it and sitting it side by side to see if the problem showed in the second Camry too. The second Camry's radio worked fine and displayed the radio song information while setting right beside my Camry - and mine did NOT. He punched on the radio in my Camry for approx. 15 minutes but could not find a setting to adjust to make it display the info that the Camry setting 5 feet away with an identical radio in it WAS displaying. He told me he did not know why it did not work right but he could not justify repairing or changing it out just because it did not work right on this one radio station (that I listen to most).

He went to the sales office and got the sales manager to come and play with the radio. The sales manager pushed the touch screen buttons for an additional 15 minutes and could not get it to display the FM music info as it should. The sales manager said that he did not understand it but it was not working right on two different FM radio stations that he could see. BUT this was impossible. He then went back to sales.

The service writer then came back and told me there was an update for the radio that they would like to install. I asked if that would fix the problem. He said he did not know. There is no info on what the update does. I agreed to let them install it. So tomorrow morning a technician will install the radio update to see if it fixes the problem. More to follow.

Camry LE 2.5L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 32 miles

Just bought a 2012 Camry LE. Came with handsfree bluetooth. Set up my phone and it paired and connected with the device but the display would sometimes go blank and although the contacts transferred they would sometimes show and sometimes wouldn't. Took the car back to dealer and although my phone was supposed to be compatible they said it wasn't. I went online and purchased a phone that Toyota said was compatible with their blue tooth. Everything connected and paired but the display would still go blank. Took it back to dealer and they said that was a "safety feature" to prevent the driver manually dialing on the display. However, the contact button on the screen also goes blank not enabling me to dial that way. Doesn't quite sit right with me. When I said something to the service man he said that I could just use the voice activation to dial - device does NOT have voice activation.
