Camry LS 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,039 miles

I rented this car during a business trip. If I tried to sit up straight, it enforced a slouched or hunchback posture. Alternately, I could sit supported on two points, my rear end and the back of my head with the seat slanted backward. This was bearable for the first 10-15 minutes, but not for the 1 hour road trip. During the 4 days of rental, neck and back problems began to aggravate. I was glad to turn this back in at the end of the rental.

Camry XLE 3.5L

I just purchased a Camry XLE V6. After test driving for 15 minutes I purchased the vehicle a week later and I feel that I made a big mistake. The headrests on this vehicle are so uncomfortable. They are intrusive and there is no way to adjust them. Another problem with the vehicle is that there seems to be something wrong with the suspension. It gives a very stiff ride. On the XLE I drove prior to purchase the ride seemed more complaint but the car I received the ride is more rigid. I am definitely not pleased. I believe I made a huge mistake buying this car. Eventually I will have to trade this in two or three years. I tried to do the right thing by buying a more practical car. That is what I thought. Big mistake. I recommend to everyone do not purchase this vehicle. I have owned: Nissan, BMW, Chevy, Cadillac, Acura. This car is the worse riding car I have ever driven. It may look real nice and have all the gadgets that you may desire but the ride is non-compliant. I would highly recommend before anyone purchases this vehicle that they should reconsider. I made a mistake please save yourself the grief and costs I have to go through to trade it in two years from now. In the mean time I have to drive a car that drives like I am riding a jackhammer and headrests that is uncomfortable. I could understand if I bought a car that was $20k but this car was over $30k. No car in that price range should have these issues. It is totally unacceptable.

Camry XLE 4

I did not want a Toyota Camry; I walked into a dealership for a test drive only. After 7 hours, I drove out with the car. I have regretted it ever since. The next day I noticed pain in my neck and back from driving it. I didn't realize I probably could have returned it. I thought I was just stuck with it and had to forget about the pain. I have been going to a chiropractic 2-3 times a week for treatments; I've bought a $100 support pillow; I've driven many other cars thinking I could trade the Toyota for a comfortable car. So far a comfortable car does not exist all because of the head rest. Models I drove were: Honda CRV, Subaru Outback and Forester (tried 3 times); Toyota Rav 4; Toyota Prius; Toyota Prius V. I am trying to find a way to support my upper back and neck with another pillow. So far I have been unsuccessful. Of course, the day I drove off the lot the car was worth 20% less, so a trade in is insane. However, I can't keep a car that causes daily pain. I have to drive 4 hours on Thur. I am dreading the pain.
