The Toyota Camry trunk (2012) is a safety hazard. My wife almost lost an eye putting groceries in the trunk
when the wind caught it and caused a serious injury. I have received bumps on the head because the trunk
lid does not fully open when you push it up. A friend of mine has a Solara and the trunk lid caused concusion
and a trip to emergency. There is a serious safety problem with Toyota trunk lids.

The trunk lid must be pushed all the way up or it will fall back down on your head as you remove items in your trunk. Any elevation will cause the lid to fall down. three occasions of head injury to my family members thus far and the dealer says that is just the way the car was built. I purchased a 2003 Camry and never had this problem and I just traded it in on the 2012 XLE model. I have had no trunk problems with any vehicle in the past. The trunk lid is dangerous and there should be a fix for this problem before someone suffers brain damage. My wife was removing items in the trunk when the lid came down and the trunk latch hit her on the top of the head. Severe pain and swelling should not be a part on your driving experience when the car cost over 30,000.00. Needles to say this vehicle will be traded in the next few months.

When opening the trunk lid it has crashed down on my head several times and today it came down and hit me in the back.
