When I first purchased the car I unlocked the lever to adjust my steering wheel and from that moment further my car never drove the same. If I do not play with the lever for the tilt steering and move steering wheel up and down while driving my car does not drive normal. The tires either feel like they were laying down flat when making a turn either way to the left or the right and the car seemed to be at a different position than my steering wheel was. I changed my lower control arms, inner tire rods(Front), outer tire rods(front),This is all since January of 2022. I contacted the dealership immediately when I began noticing the problem and they told me nothing was wrong with the car and they couldn't not help me. Now when I am driving it sounds like a belt shifted on a tire but hasn't or something is rubbing. My steering wheel shakes when braking, and my steering wheel is really tight. If I put my traction control on off and drive it somewhat drives better but the rubbing sounds from the front still appears. If I play with the tilt lever and move steering wheel in and out or up and down I can feel the transmission almost like releasing from straining but never feels as if it is straining if that makes since. The lever for tilt steering is sometimes really loose like it is about to fall off but other times it is so tight that I am afraid it will snap if I lock it back. No one seems to understand what is the issue at the mechanic shops I brought it too. And I am so scared of driving it that I have parked it since august because I am afraid for my safety and my childrens safety. I have heard and read about other camrys this year model having similar issues. One time my abs light and traction lights came on during my drive and then went off moments later. If I dont play with the lever and tilt steering during a drive, the steering wheel while shake, car wobbles and sounds like mud tires are on it, and the car glides all over the road and turns make as if tires flat.

On 2/18/23 I took my car into the repair shop to investigate a clunking sound upon braking. The control arm was broken and the level of corrosion is extensive. I am the original and only owner and the car has never been out of Florida or on the beach or immersed in water. Toyota of North America in Plano, TX said they could not receive my pictures and that there was no one at Toyota that I could send documents to. They said if there was a recall I would be notified.

Vehicle has 27,500 miles as of today's date. Front strut towers are rusted and must be repaired. Toyota of rockwall, tx refused to make repair under warranty. Toyota national office refused to pay for repair. They told that my washing the motor caused the problem. This is nonsense because I have been washing car motors for over fifty years with no problem! the problem is a design flaw that Toyota alone is responsible for. No cover or drain was manufactured into the tower. I have taken the car to an independent mechanic and he warns me that there is a possibility of failure. Any help that your Agency could give me will be appreciated I spoke with service writer jason at Toyota rockwall, Texas and he told me that service manager Mr. Stewart approved the decision spoke with randal at national Toyota case # 1702133219.

Suspension problem: Steering needs over-correcting on highways to keep vehicle going straight. Hitting any defect in the roadbed causes the car to bounce and jar causing difficulty with steering and maintaining safe forward travel. Dealership service diagnosis was a leaking front strut. Service wanted to replace leaking strut for $500. (new strut only). Vehicle has 38,163 miles. Vehicle was an off-lease used purchase with 32,698 miles. Strut not covered by waranty which expired at 36,00 miles.

The tire pressure tends to fluctuate often requiring weekly air check to maintain the proper psi. The driver front tire psi cold will read 36, front pass 34, rear drive R35, rear pass at 36, when the tires heat up after appx. 38 mile out and you check the psi it will read 39, 39. 36,37, or at time you may get 39,37.39.F you have to come to a stop light, sudden stop, or a stop at night on a non familiar road like I had to in the rain on a uneven road the vehicles tail end tends to slide to the left and the front end feels as if you hit a pot hole do to slight wear and tear groves in the road that don't become apparent until your on that 1 to 2 feet section in the road. Is this a common complaint with any others or am I over being over concerned with the drive performance on uneven pavement or roads. My concern is the abuse on the brake components, the steering, the tires, fuel consumption and keeping control of your vehicle. Is it a computer problem, wheel component, tires, or me or all of the above. I purchased my Toyota for durability, efficacy, and my family safety on the road.

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the ABS, traction control, and air bag light would intermittently illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing where it was stated that the brake actuator assembly would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

I own a 2012 4cyl Camry xle. A knocking sound coming from the back of the roof on the passenger side happens when the body integrity is compromised, like when going over bumps or entering a home garage from the driveway. Brought the car to the Toyota dealer in December 2013 who refused to repair the problem because the car was out of warranty (the car had over 40,000 miles and the warranty coverage was up to 36,000 miles). They offered to repair the car for $486.85 usd. Although two Toyota repair centers in puerto rico (Toyota service center in san lorenzo, pr and furiel Toyota auto), both acknowledged it was a problem other customers complained about and they know of. I searched online and there are forums discussing the same problem on 2012 Camry's with sunroof, so I understand it is a manufacturing issue for which Toyota should be responsible.

This auto is the most uncomfortable and least safe car that I have ever driven and I have been driving for 60 years, every slight imperfection in the road is felt and loud noises come from under the car.when it hits a bump the car bounces and makes me feel unsafe while driving. I have been back to the dealer two times (penn Toyota), the first time I drove with a technician he said" the dealer should have sold me an avalon as they drive better", and they have other shocks that they can install", when we got back to the dealership the service agent ([xxx]) stated all was up to spec and it was only my opinion that the car did not drive smoothly. I contacted Toyota hq and spoke to Mr. Ashby and he arranged a visit with the service mgr. (jimmy miga ), we took a ride in another Camry on the premises and then drove my car and found the other car to drive much smoother than mine, he lowered the tire pressure in all four tires and said it might help, it doesn't. the lowering of the tire pressure creates other problems, such as less gas mileage, tire wear and could cause a blowout, he said he would arrange for a Toyota engineer to come and check my car. I have an appt with one on 11/20/12. I hope that Toyota can do something to correct this problem, but I have little hope as all I ever heard from anyone I spoke to is that " it is up to spec or it is normal and it is only my opinion that the ride is not up to par with other new cars that I have driven."

I went to pick up my vehicle on September 3, 2012. On the way I found the vehicle was rigid and the suspension was not working properly. When car hit various imperfections in the road there was a banging noise and the car would vibrate. I felt dizzy as during my time spent driving car. The car seems unsafe to use. This should not occur on a vehicle that cost $31K and on the first day that I am driving vehicle. In addition the steering felt more weighted on the left as opposed to the right. When I turned left there was greater resistance. I contacted the customer relations manager that same day and he indicated he felt it maybe a tire pressure problem. He then stated that I should bring the car in for service department to see what the issue is. I later discovered that the radio sound fluctuated. I had contacted the service department to confirm my appointment and discovered that an appointment was never made. I notified Toyota main office and they provided me with a case # [xxx]. the main office at Toyota indicated that they would contact the customer relations manager. I will be going to advantage Toyota in valley stream, NY on 9/8/12. Please have someone investigate the issue regarding the suspension on these vehicles. I don't want someone else to incur the same issues I have. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Car shakes very aggressively on freeway with grooves. It is major security concern as car doesn't fell safe at all. Being a family car, we are not comfortable using this car anymore. Toyota is not willing to look into this and told us this is normal for the car. I have driven 7 different cars of different make and models and none of them behave in this manner on freeway.

When driving the car and slowing to a stop or accelerating from a stop there is a loud hollow clunk noise from the back of the car. We've taken it to two dealerships and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. We were told it was normal suspension rebound noises. We noticed the noise at 158 miles and we are well over 2000 miles on the car and we still are hearing the noise.

If the car sits for several hours and I go for a drive, the first dip in the road that I hit at approximately 20-30 mph will make my front suspension make a loud solitary hollow metal clunk noise. If I drive around and hit the exact same dip again, there will be no unusual noise. If I continue to drive the car, I will occasionally hear the noise from the front end of the car, though not as loud, when I drive over dips at approximately 20-30 mph. This happens the majority days that I drive the car. I have had the car looked at by two Toyota dealerships and a Toyota engineering team. They have all been unable to replicate the problem and they have visually inspected the front suspension of the car. They have said everything is normal. I have used my cell phone to video record the event happening and have showed this to them. They are unable to say what is causing the noise and no one has changed out any parts in the front suspension.
