Brakes on this car has always been kind of spongy and brake pedal goes down very far before they engage. One day driving along, I came to a stop light, and as I pressed the brake pedal it seemed to accelerate but stopped just short of the bumper of a police officer. I complained about it to the dealer during warranty but they said the pedal was normal after checking it.

This is not normal to me, my girlfriend has a 2012 Camry XLE and if you press the brakes it stops you very well. There doesn't seem to be a fix for this as I was told to bleed the brakes which did but it is still very spongy - not to mention you really have to be careful when stopping because a few times it did not feel like it was going to.

MY WIFE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR DOESN'T BRAKE GOOD GOING DOWNHILL. UNTIL I DROVE IT AND I WAS DRIVING FROM LOS ANGELES TO BAKERSFIELD AND ON THE LAST DESCENT THE CAR REACHED A VERY HIGH SPEED BECAUSE WHEN I TRIED TO BRAKE, THE CAR JUST JUMPED A LOT AND BRAKES FAILED TO STOP IT. REACHING THE SPEED OF 100 MILES/HOUR MY FRONT TWO TIRES WERE GONE AND 10 MINUTES LATER MY LEFT REAR TIRE JUST EXPLODED I ALMOST WENT TO A CLIFF. I WAS HAVING MY TWO DAUGHTERS WITH ME I WAS REALLY SCARED THINKING ABOUT THEM AND MY LITTLE ONE NEEDED TO BE TREATED BY A PSYCHOLOGIST. I NEED THAT PROBLEM TO BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I NEED HELP. CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHAT TO DO.
