problem #2

Camry LS 2.5L 4 cyl

I have a 2014 Toyota Camry woke up this morning on 12-22-2017 to a shattered back windshield! I live in a gated security complex. The weather was 30 degrees when I pulled in last night and the temperature was around 45 degrees in the morning the high for the day was 57! Couldn't understand what happened....?????

Called insurance company to find out what I could do and filed a claim. I later did research and found out that this is a common problem that has been going on for years. Shattered windshields!!!! Research showed that this is due to manufactured defects in the glass and installation that can also be caused by rear window defoggers that are set too high!

So would like to know who is the manufacturer of these windshields ????? and feel that THEY need to be covering our costs not the insurance companies!!!!!!! We as the consumer that pays enough to purchase these vehicles and insure these vehicles should not be paying out of pocket or having our insurance companies cover the cost of their negligence.

So who can I call to file complaints with to make these windshield manufactures make better windows??????What is it going to take to have this problem solved???? Someone could seriously get hurt or hurt others????

I would like to be contacted to find out who what and where I need to call and file a complaint to get this problem straightened out or do we have to have many people die or get hurt until this situation is solved.

back window shattered back window shattered

It happened at the parking garage at work. I turned the engine on then I shut the door when I heard the shattering noise. I called security and she said since nobody broke into your car then it is a car defect. I called the dealer today and was disappointed. Who would have thought that after 5 months of using this car the back glass shattered. I was glad my kids were not in the car when this happened. The dealer is not honoring it as car defect. I never expected to have this damage for a short period of time.

The manager emailed me this: " I can't think of any reason why your back window would have shattered unless the door was slammed ridiculously hard." I am a petite woman. I don't think I can do that. I have witnesses to prove when this happened. Most of my friends suggested to tell the News-TV for this issue.
