child lock stuck on locked position

I just bought the car on May 28th, and it is May 30th. Noticed a problem where my passengers could not exit the vehicle from the right hand side even after unlocking the car. The child lock feels stiff, and when pushed up there is resistance.

Hopefully Toyota will honor its 30 day 1,000 mile warranty. Scheduling an appointment and will update this review.
