problem #1

Camry XLE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

This automatic brake feature is very dangerous! I have been backing out of my driveway, barely moving, feet lightly on the brakes because I see the car coming, then they pass by me and my brakes grab, wears out my brake pads, but the worst part is when I'm on expressway going 70 mph, my cruise control on, my cameras detect cars from like 6 car lengths (maybe legal but unrealistic) my car will dramatically slow down, causing the car behind me to fly around me, get in front of me and it slows me down even more, the cruise control is useless, unless it's at night and roads are empty, I almost got rear ended before because I'm doing 70 and a car jumps in front of me, caused my brakes to slam on automatically, going from 70mph to a dead stop is never a good thing, the car behind me swerved in emergency lane (thanks goodness there was one) it almost hit me, sometimes these "safety" features are actually unsafe!! I can't use cruise control at all anymore and I've always loved my cruise control, prevents me from getting speeding tickets, but not worth getting in a wreck over it, I really lost my love for Toyotas after this one.
