About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
At night, especially on a very dark road, my headlights, especially in the low beam mode, severely restrict my vision. I can only view the road by looking through the lower part of the windshield. The view through the upper part is totally dark as if obstructed by an object. I am concerned that this is a dangerous safety issue and it places myself and others at risk of death or serious injury. I have seen this issue reported by others online and I am uncomfortable with the fact that NHTSA has not informed me of this problem nor has taken any action to correct it.

This complaint is for all cars. When driving in heavy rain it is important to turn on headlights in order for the taillights to illuminate. Almost no one does this anymore due to drl and automatic headlights. During a recent very heavy rainstorm it was almost impossible to see cars ahead of me, almost resulting in a collision. It should be mandatory that the taillights come on anytime the wipers are active. This is serious.
