The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the defrosters for the front and rear windows were not installed properly. The contact spoke with Toyota of braintree (210 union St, braintree, MA 02184, 781-848-9300) and was informed that the defroster was not installed in the front window and could not be installed by them. The dealer stated that the contact would have to trade in her vehicle for another one and lose her $6,177.13 down payment in the process. The contact stated that they would pay the taxes on the new vehicle and install an alarm system that cost $2,000. The remaining $4,177.13 could not be transferred to the new vehicle because it was used up as a down payment on the old vehicle. The manufacturer informed the contact that there was nothing they could do and advised her to work it out with the dealer. The failure mileage was 200.
