My ABS actuator went bad and I was driving home. I went to hit the brakes and the car jerked to the side and I hit a wall doing 65 miles an hour spun around and hit it two more times. Not to mention this was on the expressway. I didn't hit anyone else but I took it to Toyota and they repaired all the body damage and not the ABS actuator so when I picked up my car all the lights came back on within 15 mins. of driving. They were too cheap to fix what I told them caused the accident in the first place. They didn't want to total the car because of the value of a hybrid. In the end I paid a 1000$ deductible and they paid 10k worth of damage and parts. This is a defect from Toyota they should have fixed it all on them.

This happened on the freeway. I got the message " Check VSC system" then other lights came on. My brakes didn't work on the freeway. Pushing the brake at full power only gave me the stopping ability of maybe my e-brake. This is extremely scary and because I run a business by myself I have very limited time to fix this. I have to drive very slow and keep my distance when i drive this to the dealer tomorrow. I had a feeling my brakes were problematic. Twice I took my car to two different Toyota dealers to have this power brake system looked at. It keeps making this buzzing noise and its so loud i asked them to look at it. Both times they told me it was normal and not dangerous. I feel like they lied to me when i was still under warranty and now that I'm out of it they will probably tell me it need to be fixed. Well obviously it needs to be fixed after what happened today. I want to file a law suit against Toyota. If anyone knows a lawyer that can take on this case please let me know.

Update from Jan 30, 2014: My brake actuator still make a very loud buzzing sound and at times when I'm braking at a stop on a steep slope the brakes will lose grip as cause my car to roll a bit. It's as if the anti lock brakes are activated and it locks and unlocks by itself while braking. NTSB please investigate and issue a recall for this part before something more serious happens or a life is lost!
