Camry Hybrid Hybrid

  • CVT transmission

The dash lights up like I stuck my finger in a socket and light emitted from all my orifices. It was all the brake warning lights and the display says CHECK VCS SYSTEM. It came on once in Jan, I took it in and the car would not repeat the problem. I paid the diagnostic fee and I went on my way. It came back on again in April and I took it in. This time I did not pay the diagnostic fee but was told that the stroke sensor was bad. This sensor detects how far the brake pedal is depressed and applies pressure accordingly. With the faulty component the car brakes funny. By funny I mean soft brake pedal, inconsistent brake pressure, not linear. Repair is around $400. Alrighty then.
