Takata airbags: Knocked unconscious. After turning right onto a street & accelerating to about 20 mph over about 150 yards, I hit a car that was stopped in the street. I had my seatbelt on. The airbag knocked me unconscious for at least 10 seconds. (I weigh 122 lbs & I'm 5 ft 3.5 in.) I didn't realize I'd been knocked out: I looked down to see a partially inflated airbag. I didn't realize I' been unconscious or that my eyeglasses had been knocked off. Based on what I saw, I thought the airbag hadn't fully inflated. But my 13-year old daughter, who was in the back seat, said she had thought I was dead because she repeatedly called to me after the airbag deployed and I didn't answer. I never heard her or even knew my chest/face was against the airbag. My daughter said my face and chest were slumped against the airbag. I was shocked: All I knew was that I just saw the car I was going to hit, braked, and then saw a partially inflated airbag. But my chest hurt. The next day my chest hurt so much I couldn't press the cap onto a magic marker. The left side of my face felt like I had something on it (like a piece of cloth), and my left cheek at the cheekbone was swollen and bruised. The vision in my left eye was blurry, too. So I went to the er where they did ct scans of my chest and brain. They said I had a mild concussion. I got a partial black eye about 4 days later, and I noticed a 4" by 4" bruise on the outside of my right calf. Even today--28 days after the accident--my chest and calf still hurt. I was only going about 20 mph when the accident happened. I was only starting to accelerate onto a 40 mph street and probably only got to 18 or 20 mph when I saw the car in front of me, hit the brakes, and then hit the car. My car has been declared a total loss because of the deployment of the airbags. My daughter, who had her seatbelt on in the back seat, was unharmed.

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry hybrid. While driving 60 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the road and became airborne before landing onto the ground. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained cuts from the seat belt and unspecified injuries to the neck, back, and left leg. The contact was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed away and the insurance company stated that they would attempt to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and sent an inspector to investigate. The vehicle had not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 41,107.

The car was in a major accident, over $12,000 front end damage in a front end collision. A car pulled in front of our car from a side street. The air bags did not inflate which is what is prompting this inquiry.

Vehicle was involved in an accident but no airbags deployed even at speed of approximately 45 mph. My vehicle T-boned another vehicle that illegally and neglectfully crossed my way. My vehicle's front was was damaged, from middle part all the way to the driver side part. Bumper, hood, driver side fender, front frame metal, and other parts were needed to be replaced. All those damages and not a single airbag deployed causing more injury to occur....updated 12/29/15 updated 2/23/2016 updated 04/24/18

No matter where I park rodents are finding ways to get into my car. I do not keep food in the car and I have done several different things to prevent them getting in. Including moving my car around to places other than my designated covered parking spot. My dealer has told me to piss off. As has Toyota, but it would appear that Toyota switched over to more environmentally friendly insulation materials in recent years. I purchased this 2012 Toyota Camry brand new. This has been going on for two years now and it would appear I'm not the only person experiencing this as is apparent from the links below. I have extensive pictures of what has happened to my car. This also hasn't been an issue for any of the other vehicles in my parking lot and my previous car was parked there for years without issue (a different manufacturer). I also park our older Toyota matrix (2003) and Toyota MR2 spyder (2000) in that spot and I have not had any issues with either vehicle. I believe our older Toyota models have very different materials that aren't as attractive to rodents. I firmly believe this has to do with Toyota's move to more environmentally friendly materials. Just tonight I finally have had enough because these creatures chewed into my trunk and were chewing up the materials in my trunk near the hybrid battery. I'm parked in a completely different area and it's still happening. This isn't a coincide! I have some serious health and safety concerns here. I was reading about another owner that had rodents get into their new Toyota prius that ate the passenger airbag and did over $10,000 in damages! this needs to be investigated asap. www.toyotanation.com/forum/152-venza-forum/359615-rodent-patrol-against-damage.html priuschat.com/threads/Toyota-claims-not-aware-of-mouse-problem.113690/page-2#ixzz32awyylol

On 1/8/13 I was going down highway at 60 mph and I noticed passenger side air bag off light was on, with an adult in passenger seat. I took to dealer and they said it checked ok. On 12/23/13 I was on highway at 60 mph and I noticed passenger side air bag off light was on, with an adult in passenger seat once again I took it to the dealer, and they said it checked ok. I am concerned that I could be involved in a crash and the passenger ( my wife age 75 ) could be seriously injured or killed because the passenger air bag didn't function as it was designed too.
