I noticed this on the 45-mile drive home; the car wandered around the interstate lane and required constant attention. I had driven a 1995 Infiniti G20 for 20 years and just purchased this Camry hybrid. What a difference. The G20's most endearing quality had always been that it went exactly where you pointed it. Always. Exactly. Now, this Camry would not stay on a line. I thought my concern might be biased by the fact I had driven a great sport sedan for so long. Maybe all larger sedans were this hard to steer. But the first commentator got it right. There is a certain amount of buffer between what you do at the steering wheel and what happens at the tires. The delay and lack of responsiveness are unnerving. You have to learn to allow for the delay, and the under-response.It reminded me of a "go-cart" ride at Universal Studios,where there's a rail in the middle of the lane, the car steering is so atrocious you can only make the car veer left or right and have to rely on the middle rail to keep you from leaving your lane entirely, then you try to react as it bounces you toward the other side of the lane. That is what the first Camry ride felt like.Well, I'm much more used to it now and it's pretty manageable. Other than that, I only have a significant complaint about the front suspension, and an aesthetic complaint with the stereo. See those topics for those comments.

I just bought a 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid LX a week ago. Well, the new electric power steering that Toyota uses really sucks. You wander all over the lane at highway speeds, and it's really nerve wracking. I traded in a BMW 3 series, and what used to be something I looked forward to doing, driving, is now a chore. You just can't relax, you're always monitoring the road to keep within the lanes. I've read a lot about the Corolla having this issue, on the internet, as well. I'm really going to get rid of this car if I can, hopefully they'll take it back or let me trade it on something else. It's a great car in every other way, the mileage is great, the acceleration is great, the interior is roomy, but what good is it if you hate driving it? I guess a company Jtecht makes the eps motors for Toyota, and they may be the culprit as far as what I've read, because many cars have electric power steering, and some models people have said are fine. But I've read that Hyundais and Chevys also have had complaints on their EPS system.
