Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,900 miles

I bought my 2018 Camry XLE Hybrid in July 2018 without the moon roof option. Toyota rates the MPG as 44/46/47 I believe.

The first few months I was getting 44-47 MPG which was very good. Since around November 2018 my mileage has slowly went down to 42 and now in February it is down to 35 MPG after I reset the mpg setting. I brought the car into Corwin Toyota in Omaha and they did a good engine check and said everything was OK. I have used the same gasoline, tires are inflated at correct psi, and the car is not loaded down (just me driving car). Most of my driving is on the highway going about 60 mph.

Has anyone else noticed that the MPG on the Camry Hybrid is not at rated MPG?

I am disappointed in the MPG for my Toyota Camry Hybrid and want to know why.

Update from Aug 6, 2020: I found that resetting the mpg from the steering wheel control and then the mpg starts working correctly. The lower mpg reading was due to a bug I think in Toyota's software. I noticed the mpg going down when I was on the highway travelling. I reset the mpg control to start at zero and the MPG started to come back the correct range of mpg.
