problem #1

Corolla CE 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 148,000 miles

My car would just make a clicking sound when trying to start, eventually after a few try's it would turn the engine. First thought it's the battery and after replacing it, it was OK for a few days...but later got worse! Two times the starter got even stuck and kept spinning even after the key was removed...only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. Replaced the contacts and plunger in the starter solenoid and it cranks like a brand new starter! It's a pain in the back to get the starter out...though after he 2nd time it was pretty fast. Cheap fix!
