I bought the car from a small home town dealer my mechanic recommended. The car ran fine. Then one day, the problem appeared. I got in to start it, the key wouldn't turn, the steering wheel wouldn't turn and, of course, I couldn't get it to shift to neutral as the mechanic suggested. Everything was locked up. So I tried to jiggle everything, turned key over, then pulled on wheel with foot on brake and trying to turn key all at same time. After going thru this several times, everything released and it started. The mechanic thought it must be the switch and changed that......I had to get new keys etc. The problem still happened and he decided it must be the starter and we changed that. It has happened twice since the new starter, today being the second time. He suggested I try the internet for help as he had run out of ideas. I suggested was something wrong in the steering column? He said everything looked OK when he replaced the switch. I do hope there is a solution to this as I'm afraid I'll get stranded somewhere. Please HELP!

PS The dealer had been driving it himself until I bought it and never had this trouble.
