The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The contact attempted to close the front drivers side window and it began to move very slowly until the window dislodged from the door panel and broke. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the window was replaced under warranty. Approximately one year later the failure recurred and the contact had the window replaced by an independent mechanic. Approximately four years later the failure recurred but the window was stuck in the open position inside of the door panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the regulator failed. The dealer could not repair the vehicle under the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 08V162000, visibility:glass, side/rear. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.

The contact had to repair the failure at his own expense. After the repair was made, the dealer informed him of NHTSA campaign id number 08V162000 (visibility:glass, side/rear). The contact is currently seeking reimbursement for the repair costs and is experiencing this failure with all of the power windows. The failure mileage was 48,400.
