Unknown - The airbag light has been on for a while. Check engine light is also on, and after a few repairs/replacements of diagnosed issues the light remains. A Texas vehicle inspection report shows a P0420 fault code that will not go away, as well as a P0741 fault code about a torque converter clutch circuit underperforming or is stuck/off. I have a technical service bulletin from the inspection station that reads as follows: 10051865 Date: 04/16/2013 Toyota: In a collision, to help reduce injuries, with seat belt pre=tensioner and supplemental restraint systems (srs), it's possible that the devices may or may not perform as expected with unintended deployment.

Last week while I was driving my car the airbag light came on. I was so worried for my safety to drive my car. I went online to search if my car had a airbag recall and it did. I made an appointment with the Toyota dealership to do the repair. While I was waiting there they told me that my car had another problem, I was supposed to replace the spiral cable (code B1811). If I didn't replace that the airbag light was still going to be there and the airbag wasn't going to work if I replace them. The horn on my car hasn't been working for so many years and I didn't know that was connected with the spiral cable assembly. I paid $510.22 to replace that. I'm the only owner for that car. Toyota company should have a recall for the spiral cable because it is connected to the airbag and we as a customer should not pay for replacement.my car had 11 recalls so far. Other Toyota's have recalls for the same problem but not with 2005 year old Toyota's.

The 2005 Corolla was slowed down for traffic ahead on the highway and rear ended by a driver, who then collided with another car. After being rear ended the 2005 Corolla then hit another car. The air bag as deployed and the driver (the only person in the car ) was not alive when first responders arrived. The at fault driver then rear ended another driver (who survived). Unknown fault or problem that caused the unsafe condition. We received a noticed months later of a recall of front passenger air bag. Symptoms happened several times when I was driving on the highway. When I pushed the gas at approx. 50 mph, the car is not gaining speed, instead, the car was losing losing power. Earlier this week, my car stutter after the input of gasoline. My check engine light came on yesterday and I brought it to a local parts store for a code read. The code is P0741, solenoid circuit.

I own a 2005 Toyota Corolla. This week I noticed that my air conditioner was blowing hot air. When I had it looked at by a mechanic, I was told that debris got into the condenser and damaged it, requiring a repair. I researched the problem and discovered that Toyota issued technical service bulletin AC002-06 "lower grille mesh protection cover, " which acknowledges that the failure to include a protection cover near the mesh grille has caused debris to get into the air conditioner condenser, and thereby damaging it. Toyota has included the grille protection cover in subsequent Toyota Corolla models, but it refuses to add the cover to the older models or reimburse customers for the expense in replacing damaged condensers that have resulted from this design defect. This problem has occurred frequently since the first event: For no known reason, engine rpms drop to point where vehicle barely moving. Can shut vehicle off and restart and problem goes away. Check engine light comes on but no help in diagnosis. Been to dealer several times. Replaced ECM and tried other possible "fixes". so far, has only occurred in rural areas at speeds of 35 mph or less. Fortunately not much traffic. Check engine light will go off by itself as problem "fixes itself". a potentially dangerous situation but no answers from dealer or manufacturer.

I was traveling 70 mph on the freeway while a car came to a complete stop in front of me. I slammed on my breaks and got the car to slow down to approximately 55 mph before hitting his car in the back. My head hit the steering wheel from the impact of the crash. The radiator is busted, the bumper came off, my frame was bent, my headlights are off, my car dented so far back the front doors wouldn't open, and my airbags didn't deploy.

Car stalled in the middle of hwy in 2009. No warning lights came on. After diagnoses mechanic provided me a technical bulletin that I have a bad ECM. Took to Toyota and Toyota denied the claim and made me replace a fuel pump instead. Once the fuel pump was replaced the cars still wouldn't run. Another diagnostic indicated it was the ECM, which was covered under warranty. Nothing was wrong with the fuel pump. Toyota did not want to recognize a long standing problem with ecms. 3 mechanics indicated it was the ECM.

I have a 2005 Corolla S. it had a really bad vibration in the dash and could not be detected. The dealer removed the dash numerous times over a 7 week period. The vibration was finally located in the pillar(it was the drain pipe for the sunroof). The dash now has a vibration that at 70 mph sounds like a loud whistle- very annoying. The dealer will not work on it because the original 36,000 mile warranty is past. I believe that the roseburg Oregon dealer should stand behind the fact that they removed the dash enough to cause this vibration.

(problem - clutch) purchased 2005 Toyota Corolla xrs in 08/04 (no longer made). Taken it regularly to have it svc'd at charles barker Toyota laskin rd - Virginia beach, va. I've had to take it back a few times in btwn the regular sched svc. Approx 39,123 miles. Purchased the platinum extended warranty plan. 10nov06 I paid $281.27 for the 30,000 miles svc, because I was told that I needed it. 11apr07 I paid $252.90 for the 35,000 miles svc, again because I was told by the dealer that I needed. I do not drive my car in a way that the clutch would've burned out in 3yrs. Online (toyotafinancial.com)/new vehicle protection plan comparison/manual transmission- it shows everything that is covered by the warranty. There are items listed for the clutch that is covered by the warranty. When I called about the warranty (purchased through Toyota) they stated that nothing was covered. Which I don't understand. Because they're stating 2 different things. If the platinum coverage online is not correct, then that's false advertisement. Fidelity warranty services, Inc. P.O. Box 8567 deerfield beach, Florida 33443 1-800-327-5172 contract nbr. 38848636. I don't expect them to cover the whole amount that was quoted. But the either the dealer or the warranty should help cover some of the expense. The maintenace of the car has been kept up. There's no reason why the clutch should've went out in 3yrs. I was told by Toyota dealership - asst. Svc mgr to call the warranty company. When I called the warranty company, I was told that I wasn't suppose to be calling them. So I'm getting the run around & the whole amount is going to be put me regardless. Which is unfair. It has never been hard to shift into gears, but for the past weeks when you go into 5th & 6th gear (there was no griding sound as if it had problems going into gear), the car seem as if it was unable to pick up speed & when you pressed on the gas the motor just sounded louder & there was a burning smell.

My 2005 Corolla makes a noise that sounds like an army helicopter is right above the car when the right rear window is rolled down. If it is on the highway the sound becomes unbearable. The sound will disappear if another window is opened at least 4-6 inches.
