Takata recall: The passenger airbag was replaced under a recall several years ago. The driver's airbag warning light is now on. Also, the right front wheel bearing has been replaced at least six times since I purchased this vehicle in December, 2008. The first two or three were replaced while the car was still under warranty, but I have had to replace the same right front wheel bearing another three to four times thereafter at my own expense. The last time I had to replace the wheel bearing was in December, 2016, while on vacation. It seems the problem just hasn't been permanently solved. So frustrating and expensive for another wonderful vehicle.

It took way too long for the dealership to get the parts and call us for the repair, especially considering the magnitude of this safety issue. I was nervous for my family's safety.

Takata recall my son hit by inflated driver side air bag on 18th dec2014 at university of houston resulted due to passenger side tire hit the curb right side of road curb. This may happen due to passenger side front tire blew after hitting the curb ( guess) because car passenger end strut touched the curb and got damaged. It also damaged the fire wall. The car was with normal in campus speed 25 mph. Tires were new & had replaced just three months before accident. Police called 911 & he has been transported to St. Joseph hospital, downtown - houston due to sever injuries due to air bag inflate. I was shocked due to deep cut on his forehead, few facial cuts & fractured nose. I called Toyota customer center in first week on Jan 2015 to inform about air bag injury & investigate probable cause, but they denied and told me such injury can take place due air bag impact. My intention was to avoid such injuries to all others but no positive response I received from Toyota. In 1st week of July 2017, I received the notice about recall of air bag at my previous resident address. After reading the notice, I got shocked because of Toyota's stand in 2015. I called Toyota & asked them to investigate the matter but the case manger informed that the recall is associated with passenger side air bag & nothing to do driver side air bag. Attached case number & letter for your reference. I haven't heard back from them, need to resolve the issue. Car is still running without driver end air bag.

Toyota airbag recall: I called Toyota to schedule an appointment to have my airbags fixed back in November. I was set up with the Toyota dealership to have my airbags replaced. They told me they had to order parts for that service and would call me once those parts came in. I never received a call about this again and they have not followed up with me on my inquiries.

I received an air safety recall notice therefore I scheduled an appt with boch Toyota in norwood, MA to get it fix since that was the dealer I bought the car from 11 years ago. On the day of my appointment I went there and they told me they replaced the air bag and that I was all set then I left.two weeks after while I was driving on my way home my air bag light came on, I immediatly called boch Toyota they asked that I bring the car, I went there directly. When I arrived they took my car to go check why the air bag light was on, I reminded them that I was there two weeks ago maybe they had forgtotten to do something. The service advisor told me he would have a mechanic take a look; an hour after another service advisr larry came and told me that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced that I would cost me $800. I told him I had my car for 11 years and the air bag light never had any issue until I brought my car there for them to fix the air bag as requested by the Toyota company;larry told me the issue the car has now is not covered under the safety recall and that my only option was to get it fix, he also said that if I was involve in a car accident the air bag will not deploy. I told him that it was boch Toyota's responsibilty to fix it, he told me it was not possible. Next they brought my car for me then I left. My air bag light is still on in the car, I have asked two mechanics for suggestions and they both informed me that boch Toyota should have taken care of it. Can someone please contact me ? I need to know how to proceed with this sice I'm driving a car with air bags that will not deploy in case I have an accident.

I have the air bag lights on all the time, the time I turn on the car and driving it, it just do not go away on parking either, ever since I buy the car the dealers said it will go away as I drive it, it never did, it is not stable at all every time I brake while driving it goes forward like it did not stop but it did. It is in some way unbalance at every stop. But they said this is how it is since I bought it. Now I try to check on recalls and for some reason this VIN # does not appear to be valid or recognizable by the safety dept.. why" why? why? they do not want to fix it? or what is going on"

Takata recall- we received the notice for the recall and called our local Toyota dealer. They informed us that we would be contacted when parts came in. A few months later, we received a notice indicating that parts had been manufactured for our location. We called again and were told that they didn't have the parts and that a supervisor would call us back. We never received a call back. We called back again a few months later and were told the same exact thing, including that we would get a call back from the supervisor. We received no call back. We called one last time (after battling with this for over a year), and were told the exact same thing. We even said, "can you please make sure he actually calls us back this time? we have been promised many calls back before and never gotten them." Well, no call back! in the meantime, we have to avoid traveling with passengers which is a massive inconvenience, especially with two busy children. We had this same recall with our Honda and it was completely solved within 6 months.
