Corolla S 4 cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 93,000 miles

I bought my car brand new in 2005. I have been the only driver. At 93,000 miles (with regular maint.) I heard a rattling, it would go away when I pushed the clutch in. It got worse so I took it into a mechanic to have a look. He said the noise was coming from my transmission and they would have to pull it out to diagnose it. Got a call this morning that they are going to have to rebuild it with new bearings, rings, seals & gaskets. I understand my car is almost 10 years old, however, It does not go on many trips at all, I drive it mainly in town to and from work. Odd my transmission just went out only 1 year after I had to have my clutch replaced. What is going on?!?!?!?!
