  • 42,000 miles
A/C stopped working at 42K miles. Bad expansion valve. Part cost around 40 dollars labor 6.5 hours at going shop rate of 80-100 dollars per hour, add the cost of removal of freon and cleaning system brings the bill to $600-$800 dollars. System is no longer under warranty.
