problem #2

Mar 172014

Corolla

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

Just started a couple of days ago, when I was braking the engine rev's at a red light and car wanted to go - I was holding the brake pedal and the car started going forward. It now happens repeatedly even when in park the engine revs up , it is scary. I can't find a recall on this for this model, if anyone has advice I would love to hear it.

problem #1

Nov 022009

Corolla LX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,000 miles

It's done this twice. I took it in and the dealer couldn't duplicate the problem. I was given an "all clear." It's interesting--the 2nd time, I put it into neutral, got it stopped, and then just sat there, watching what it did. It continued to rev all on it's own--both my feet were off all pedals. After about 15 seconds, it slowed itself down and I could drive normally. Could be really scary--but I can't afford to get rid of it/give it back to Toyota so will just be quick to get it into neutral, I guess.
