On wed Oct 23 I was driving on the freeway in the middle lane. The weather was perfect, no rain, clear blue skies and about 70 degrees. It was apprx 12:00 pm (mid-day). Out of nowhere I heard a loud band on top of my roof and glass started flying off the back of my car. I pulled over to see what happened and there was a huge hole in the middle of my sunroof and the rest of the glass around it is shattered. It was such a bizarre experience I couldn't figure out what would have cause this. It was like the sunroof had exploded for no reason. Then on October 25 I saw an article that a lot of Kia's sunroofs had been exploding! that is no coincidence. I know my car is a Toyota, not a Kia, but the sunroof exploded out of nowhere and the article sounds exactly like what happened to me. Fortunately I had the flap closed so there was no injury to me. Please help with this. I don't know what to do next and I wouldn't want to pay $800 for a defective window! I have pictures of my window from the day it happened. I also have a claim from my insurance co.
