Complaint: Check engine/VSC light appearing on dash Vehicle going into limp mode, seems to happen in fall/spring time. No problems in summer/winter. Shut down the vehicle and restart after limp mode, vehicle is working. Noticing sluggish acceleration.

Root Cause (Still unknown): P0121 DTC Throttle Position Sensor out of circuit range/performance Toyota released bulletin regarding wire harness for early built 2009 Corolla. I replaced the connector to the throttle position sensor. Problem went away for the winter. Spring timing, the problem reoccurred. Replaced throttle body (with attached throttle position sensor) Problem reoccurred.

If anyone has had this issue and fixed it, please reply, this is getting very frustrating.

2009 Toyota Corolla, engine will go into a "limp" mode. Depressing the gas pedal will not do anything, until engine is shut off and restarted, I replace the throttle body and still have the same issue. Also replaced the gas pedal assembly. and still have the same issue. Car may go days or weeks/months between events. It happens on a freeway where the car slows and you can not accelerate in any way, you must pull over and shut off the engine and restart to get the car to move. It can also happen coming to a stop sign.
