Trying to steer right at a right bend in the road, steering felt stiff and wouldn't respond, car went straight
into heavy duty metal sign pole with concrete base. when loss of steering was noticed , distance to
impact was 20 ft. at 25mp, maybe a second passed before attempting to brake, by then the collision was un-avoidable, even if the brakes worked properly, they would not be effective at that speed and distance. I can say that Toyota relies on an outside of Toyota field inspection company, who do diagnostic data recovery;
however without power to the car this can' be done, the steering is electronically power assisted, and power was out which was the reason for the seeing failure..l the car had zero power at scene as well as at Toyota dealership where the car was towed for inspection; access to data stored in the EDR ,event data recorder, could only be done after power was restored. I've opened claim with Toyota, your claim gets passed around
from dept. to another and then to field inspection, then back to another dept. and then to Legal Claims, who send you a one page dismissive letter stating the steering was working properly, as well as the air which didn't deploy. Remember if you will, the CEO ,Chief Executive Officer, of Toyota was called before Congress,
and admitted wrong doing and would make things right after being fined billions, Toyota sucks

While operating my 2009 Toyota Corolla one morning on my commute to work, the electrical power steering (EPS) light came on indicating to me failure of power steering. While continuing to investigate this issue it is clear to me that Toyota must be doing something to resolve the failed EPS system. A failed EPS system while operating the vehicle can cause an accident, severe deaths and tragedy!
Since the EPS light has came on, I have not drove my vehicle and am still investigating how to get this issue fixed from Toyota.
