While driving the 2009 Toyota Corolla drifts wildly as if being buffeted by a strong wind. On 9/21/2018 I was making a right hand turn and the steering locked for a brief second but returned however without power steering. Fortunately, I was able to complete the turn narrowly missing an oncoming vehicle. However this was a near miss and I'm lucky it wasn't head on collision. I understand there are several reports of this type of incident and Toyota has decided NOT to do a recall. I took the vehicle to my dealer and they could not repeat the problem so they would not perform any fix even though there is a Technical Service Bulletin issued. I'm documenting this incident in case this occurs again and there is an injury or fatality.
