2010 Toyota Corolla. Consumer writes in regards to steering and other vehicle problems. The consumer stated the skid light would come on at any time, even if she was driving slowly. When going around a corner, controlling the steering was somewhat of a problem. If it were snowing, or raining, the rear end would slide out to the point, the skid light would come on. There were times, when the vehicle would not start. The consumer also stated she heard a clicking sound from the vehicle, then all of a sudden, the vehicle took off. The incident happened several more times. Updated 11/13/14

First, the trunk stopped opening from the inside. Also, the vsc off light, check engine light, and traction light all came on at the same time while I was driving and I have no idea why. The gas cap was on tightly, the fuel levels were right, there was no need for an oil change, and the car is only 2 1/2 years old in which I did not do any wreckless driving.

Car has been feeling strange at 60mph - pulls to left sometimes and if the wind blows it feels like its going to loose traction. Today this happened with some rain on the road care lost traction pulled left hit a transfer truck - spun around in the road into a hill and rolled. Car is totaled and my wife was lucky not to have been killed. The back of the car is gone! if this happens in the wind people are going to get killed in the rain. This needs fixed.

Purchased a new 2010 Corolla. Driving home from work last week, I had two service lights on (my car has 1400 miles on it). The steering in the car seemed "loose" as I drove home, but when I went to turn on my street, the steering wheel did not turn and the ABS failed. I hit a curb on the opposite side of the road damaging a strut and an alloy wheel. My local dealer, lakeland Toyota, told me it was not their problem but that I needed to figure out how to pay for the repairs. They told me that they had no idea why those two warning lights were on. I am currently trying to work with Toyota corporate to get this resolved in a manner that I will feel safe driving the car. Kind of hard to do when they refuse to accept that there is a problem.

Bought a 2010 Corolla on 12/26/09 with Goodyear Eagle ls 2 tires. Upon driving home my steering was weaving left to right felt as though I was driving on ice and/or hydroplaning. Toyota regional rep came from corporate, looked at the steering 2 wks ago. Steering improved until driving in rain on 4/4/10 the steering became loose and the car was weaving left to right and I was once again hydroplaning at 65 mph Goodyear man said when traction is lost to the road, the vehicle will hydroplane. (these tires are dangerous) the consumer stated it was very difficult to control the steering. The vehicle would wander into the next lane. The consumer also stated the vehicle did not always stop in time when the brakes were applied. The consumer was told the vehicle was equipped with ABS and they were much better and safer. I have felt that there is a problem with the brakes of my 2010 Toyota Corolla since shortly after I bought it. The brakes vibrate or pulsate without warning. It seems that the ABS is activated for no reason. I am not stopping short and the road has not been slippery. I brought the car to the dealer and they claimed that there is nothing wrong with the brakes. Another problem I have noticed with the brakes is that they seem to grind when I am braking over bumpy surfaces. It happens with out warning, I never know when it will occur. I called the dealer and the mechanic said it is just the ABS, nothing to worry about. The problem seem similar to the prius brake complaints. Finally, I notice that sometimes as I am stopping that the brakes seem to slip a little but then take hold.
