Toyota motor sales, U.S.a., Inc is giving us hardtime for a loaner car and imposing unnecessary fees for a driver under 21 years. My daughter drives Toyota Corolla and shares car-pool with other students to go to the college and thus putting the passenger lives at risk. We contacted one Toyota dealer, fort bend Toyota in houston and crm, Ms. Ashton (281-633-3300)advise us that enterprise will not provide a car to someone under 21. This does not make sense.

"takata recall". vehicle was recalled in May. Toyota customer service says they are unable to help because they have too many other vehicles involved in the recall. They suggest I "call around to other Toyota dealerships" until I find one that is not overwhelmed with recalled vehicles.

In May 2016, vehicles equipped with front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata were recalled. According to takata, the propellant in these inflators may degrade after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity and fluctuating high temperatures. Degraded propellant can cause inflator rupture during airbag deployment. The manufacturer has failed or has been unable to provide a remedy for this safety recall in a timely manner.

Takata recall of passenger airbag due to degradation of material in hot/humid climates. Recall was issued 5/23/16, there is still no remedy available and not even a projected timeframe of when one will become available. In the meantime, no one can sit in my front passenger seat, and I have to remember to limit the amount of weight I set on it, or else the consequences could cause serious injury or death. This is nerve wracking and inconvenient. I feel.that Toyota should be investing their resources in developing a remedy asap and am wondering what the hold up is.

My 19 years old daughter uses this car to go to college with her friend. Toyotal customer service manager advised me to pay $10/day for additional insurance which is not fair. Also he is advised me that there is no lability of my Toyota car for damage when I leave the car with them to repair. Basically, Toyota offers a total discouragement to the vehicle owner and force us to drive the defective car. My daugher does share rides with her friends and take turns. Someone has to sit in the front seat. Toyota crm name: Jason edward, 713-270-3924. We need full coverage of rental car not an extra cost to us $10/day until our Corolla is repaired for this safety recall.

Takata inflators. Toyota said to file a complaint if I believe they have not provided a remedy in a reasonable amount of time. I have not been able to have a passenger in 3 months and according to their hotline, a remedy will still not be available for the foreseeable future. Other car companies have provided repairs or replacements months prior to this date. I find this unacceptable and dangerous.
