The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the circuit needed a spiral cable. Takata recall. See A14 to attached document. My Toyota Corolla is always parked outside in the sun at high humidity in Hawaii (up to 99%) and high temperature (up to 99 degrees) all day long so it has already experienced long-term exposure to environmental moisture and high temperatures. And since my car is 2010 it has been parked in high humidity and in the sun at high temperatures all day long for the past 6 years. Since the recalls pose an unreasonable risk to my safety, I am requesting immediate remedy to this situation including providing a loaner vehicle until the remedy is available. See A8 -- I do not consider not carrying passengers in front passenger seat as a remedy or minimized risk. I car pool and carry passengers on a daily basis.

Takata recall. I do not usually do this, but I am taking the time to write to complain that a remedy to this recall is taking far too long considering the fact that the issue could result in serious injury or death.

I called Toyota after receiving the recall notice which recommended using the vehicle without an occupant in the front seat. When I called the customer service number, the representative stated repair of the vehicle was not a "remedy available at this time." When asked about a car rental again I was told that "remedy is not available at this time." I was then transferred to an individual who stated reimbursing individuals for making 2 trips to Transport 5 people was not a a "remedy available at this time." The notice which was sent only warns to keep occupants out of the front seat. However, a heavy purse or even grocery bag triggers the weight sensor and may cause the airbag to deploy. I mentioned this to Toyota and said she may want to pass that information along because it may be a serious safety concern. I was told she was taking careful notes and a case manager would contact me the following business day. I never received the phone call. The next morning, I once again reached out to customer service, this time asking the customer service rep about whether the notes reflected the information I had given them about the weight sensor. She stated there were no notes and that either way Toyota does not take "unsolicited advice." The customer service line has essentially been set up to compartmentalize incoming information in order to shield the company as it kicks the can down the road on the repairs. I am documenting this here in the hopes they can be contacted to remedy the letters language and hopefully prevent injuries to the public.

"takata recall" letter from Toyota indicates that the only present resolution with the takata airbags is for you to not use the front passenger seat. There is also concern that an impact may cause materials from the airbag to injury or kill a passenger riding in the passenger rear seat. This danger is immediate and needs a fix now. I received this recall notice on July 22, 2016.

"takata recall" yesterday July 19th I was interrupted with the recall in the mail for my vehicle which my wife and I use for work with all of our equipment in the back seat and trunk. So now there saying she can't sit in the passenger seat cause fragments of metal may seriously injure or even result in death. It also says that it could strike the vehicle's occupants I live in a high volume place were the traffic is horrible and dangerous and Toyota doesn't have a remedy available and I'm trying to work and will not at any cost put my wife's life in danger. On top of that Toyota has not provided an alternitave rental car and they said if one is available I'll have to pay out of pocket for insurance. I'm not the one who messed up here and I have to pay insurance for two cars. One for my car that I owe 10000 dollars on that's a ticking time bomb and for another car that they should be accomadating everything. This needs to be fixed I'm having a mental breakdown I'm on a title fit schedule to pay my bills and I can't even go to work. Please make Toyota fix my problem I having heart palpitations and can't afford to miss one job. I'm a hard working man and will not be forced to pay insurance for a mistake of another multi billion dollar car company. And I'm still waiting for them to provide a rental car"???"

To Toyota : sending out an interim recall notice #16V-340 saying you are preparing a remedy is not satisfactory this recall has been ongoing for months and a remedy should have already been completed. Toyota had plenty of time to prepare this remedy. Advising owners not to drive vehicle with passengers in front is certainly not conducive when you only have one vehicle to use. You should provide another vehicle in the meantime.
