Corolla LE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 142,000 miles

The transmission for the car was a pain in the ass. First of all, there was the matter of getting a replacement since there were none around. Another issue is when you think it may be a battery issue, but it is not. Took a bunch of time going through people who I didn't know what they were talking about to find out the transmission was bad. Another issue was the fact that the one we finally found for it did not readily fit the engine.

Corolla SE 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200,647 miles

I had it for 7 years had it services and everything ,but the car would not keep fluid in it. My transmission went out after I put the darn fluid in it. I t sounded like the bottom fell out! I was driving it had to get it towed and could not get to work.I am really upset about this. I also had to replace my wheel bearing, cv axle and my starter. I had to put on brakes about 6 times and replace my rotores about 2 times. I have so much money in this car then I have to. Turn on the ac and the gas leaves so quick, I like the car just too many problems. Replace my headlights twice.

Corolla LE 1.8L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,500 miles

We bought this car new with 5 miles on it. Within 3-4 weeks of owning it, the transmission failed. With that happening, we noticed we had troubles braking. The car then completly shut down while we were on the road.We had the car towed to the dealer. Within 2 days they claimed to have found a error code P0751,which is a solenoid. They claimed to have replaced the whole transmission. Within 1 hour of us picking up the car from them, the brakes failed while exiting the highway. This made my wife frantic and now scared to drive the car.She was able to get it to stop and went to work, while driving home more problems occured with the brakes and transmission. The car was towed back to the dealer and they say it was the transmission again, the same thing.

How do 2 transmissions go on a new car, especially one that had 1500 miles, then the 2nd with only 25 miles. A special note to add, since everything is computerized and all is connected to this system , when the transmission fails, the brakes could not work either. 2 problems already. I have always bought a used car and have never had so many troubles and major ones to boot, than this. My wife said to try buying new. Could be a just a bad car or bad choice of car company. We have lost that securing feeling. Don't know if we will be writing here again or in the Obits. Check either . Good luck
