I brought the vehicle in for a recall repair and it was returned damaged with a piece hanging out. The dealer admitted that they knew there was damage and opted not to tell me. I called corporate Toyota and told them I was concerned the car was not safe to drive because the recall repair was not completed properly and was advised I would need to pay to have it inspected by another dealer and have the recall properly repaired, or I can take it back to the dealer that did not initially perform the repair correctly. I have no confidence that the car is safe to drive since the visible components were not installed properly. The dealer I went to has proven incapable of properly performing this repair. In summary, the recall repair was not properly performed and corporate Toyota advised that I would need to pay for the repair if I take it to a reputable dealer.

The car was stationary. I went to buckle the driver's side seatbelt before going grocery shopping and springs came flying out of the buckling mechanism. The seatbelt no longer works.

Rear seat belts must crossover each other to buckle. This involves the rear seat behind the driver and the middle rear seat. Dealer can not repair. Says it is a factory defect. Requested local dealership to submit a complaint to Toyota corporate offices. Turning the buckles opposite of design does not solve the problem. Consequently unable to safely seat belt two children in area behind the driver and middle rear seat.

I was involved in accident where I was T-boned on the driver side and pushed from the traffic lane onto sidewalk into telegram pole. The impact was so forceful that the driver side window exploded but was held together due to tine on window. Outside mirror shattered and glass came into car. I had seat belt on but somehow managed to bump my head on the windshield which was cracked. Suffered a mild concussion from ct scan. So from the front driver side, bumper and passenger side received extensive damage which made the car undrivable. During the course of the forceful hit and being pushed onto the sidewalk into the telegram pole, none of the air bags deployed. In this vehicle there are side curtain airbags which I feel should have deployed due to the impact of the other vehicle (1998 durango). Would like some research done before I take further civil action in regards to the defective air bags. The car has been totaled due to the extensive damage and the bending of the frame on the car.
