Vehicle doors would not unlock after pumping gas at station. Vehicle was not started at the time and keys were in car (key-less system which is supposed to automatically unlock doors when keys are in vehicle). After attempting to open the driver side door without success, the passenger door did the same. After a few minutes of waiting the passenger door finally unlocked. The vehicle started however, there was a smell of gasoline coming from the vents. The air conditioner also stopped working. When the button for venting outside/inside was switch to outside air, the gasoline smell dissipated. When I pressed inside air the strong smell of gasoline occurred again. After approximately 20 minutes, the air conditioner began to work and shortly there after the smell of gasoline resolved. After a few hours the headache from gasoline inhalation went away.

I was not familiar with the light switch on the vehicle that I had just purchased and believed that I had turned on the lights of my vehicle. In reality I was driving with the taillights off because the light switch was in the "dlr" position. (the light switch is behind the steering wheel with small letters that can't be read in the dark). There is no indication that the taillights are off when the switch is in this position. The headlights are on as well as the instrument panel illumination. Since then I have seen the same vehicle / model year driving without taillights in the middle of the night in approximately 5 occasions. I believe that sooner or later this design flaw will cause accidents.
