The touch screen in the bottom right corner is not responsive. Original owner said it gave out just before I purchased from them. The main safety concern is now I am unable to use hands free calling which is the main functionality you need with a Bluetooth set up. From what I can see this is a large problem across online forums with this particular model and dealerships will not replace for less than $1000+ and I feel hands free calling should be a safety priority for Toyota enough to replace the screen.

The infotainment system touch functionality is broken. The lower part of the touchscreen does not respond to touches. This is apparently due to the faulty digitizer layer. The infotainment system is used for everything from accessing the media, to car settings configuration, to properly interacting and setting the phone for hands-free phone calls communication as required by the vehicular laws in my state (California) and many others. This presents a large safety risk, as the driver can be become heavily distracted operating the system. Per my research, this is a widespread problem across the entire Toyota lineup and affects many models and multiple years around 2014 (particular after 2014). You can easily find this problem reported across the internet in many forums and Youtube videos. Although Toyota has issued some TSB's, it looks like, they are only covered in warranty. Toyota refuses to take responsibility for it and does not have any recalls for and the dealer will charge around $1000 to fix it, by changing the infotainment system.

The component that has failed already is the in front passenger side door locker. The door locker is not working in any way, When I am using the switch to lock and unlock the door locker dosen't move. If I use the car key in the drivers side outside to lock and unlock all doors, the other three doors locker work fine, but in front passenger side door locker not work any more. If I use my control alarm something happens.. I am driving my car every day I don't feel comfortable with this matter because somebody can open my door on any traffic lights. Same way I leave my car parked outside in the street I have to be careful to lock manually the door. I hope never forget lock manually my door car.... the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? NO Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear... NO Any symptoms o problems prior to the failure

While using our navigation system our radio rebooted and will not load. We were using the system for directions because it's hands free. I have tried 7-8 times to reset the system and I even tried disconnecting the battery to perform a hard reset without any luck. The vehicle has approximately 70,000 miles. I am the original owner and haven't had another issues. I looked online and seen hundreds of people complaining about their navigation/radio system doing the same thing. It's obviously something wrong with the system and Toyota doesn't seem to be willing to repair the system for less than $1,400 from what other Corolla owners have stated.

I have a 2014 Corolla and out of the blue with in the last few days my entire screen for my audio and navigation went blank on my car. It goes between running a process and then back to a black screen. It's a safety issue because it's very distracting for one, and for two I got the upgraded navigation so I had hands free. I'm very dissatisfied and when looking it up have seen several complaints about this. I have been an avid Toyota vehicle owner and for the most part been happy with the vehicles. I think this should be something that is looking into any potentially recalled for them to update this systems this isn't something that I did or anyone else I've seen posting comments on it. To keep loyal customers you have to have good solid products, seems that around 70,000 miles several people have had the same issue. Just around the time your warranty is up. Please look into this for the integrity of your Toyota name and safety for those who own this make and model.

My car was parked in my driveway when an electrical fire ignited. I was unaware and a neighbor knocked to let me know the car was smoking. The fire department responded swiftly and determined the fire was electrical and originated in the dash and had burned the entire dash, the fire was limited to this area and did not extend to the engine of the vehicle.

The screen that contains all hands free options continuously acts as if it is rebooting and never finishes. It happened at 70,000 miles and did this suddenly. It has never worked since and we shouldn't have to spend $1,000 for a new one when it wasn't our fault. This is a major distraction when driving at night and have a hard time seeing if a deer comes out or other things I need to watch for. I have adhd and so this causes more problems for me than maybe others. It flashes really bright and goes dim but continues to do this the whole time. This is a danger for me because of the amount of light that exudes off of the screen and never stops. It also is a safety concern due to myself not being able to use any of the hands free options. This must be called in for a recall because it is dangerous to have this happen.

When I turn on the fog lights to the car I started smelling a electrical smell. Stopped my car and saw the front left of my car on fire and saw the fog light smoking. My fig light switch is also in the wiper control that was being recalled on other Corollas and dont know if that has an effect with the wiper control shorting out. I put out fire and turned off fog lamps and no problem. But when I turn fog lamp on I have the problem where it starts to smoke there.

After just five years of use (and only 28,000 miles), both front door locks have quit working. We have to manually lock and unlock the front doors with the key or from the inside. They occasionally work just often enough for us to think they're working again, then we'll come back to the car and find the front doors didn't lock. Not only is this a big annoyance, but it increases the risk of car theft and makes it hard for us to get the doors unlocked with kids or other things in tow. This is way too early for this equipment to be failing.

I have three separate door lock actuaters that have failed or are failing all within a 2 month period with only 51000 miles on the odometer. The front right passenger door will not lock or unlock unless I manually flip the switch, and the front left driver door and left rear passenger door intermittently will not lock or unlock when I use the key fob or when I shift the car into gear. This makes it difficult to know if the car is secured when I park it or when starting to drive, and I am concerned if the rear child safety locks do not function correctly now. I have had the Toyota dealership in rochester mn confirmed the need for 3 door lock actuators and are asking for over $1400 for fixing them. I am in touch with Toyota North America hoping to be approved for a "goodwill" fix. Doing further research online shows two separate law firms investigating this issue as there has been a significant uptick in door lock actuator failures in various Toyota vehicles. I believe they are defective.

I have difficulty when locking/unlocking my vehicle with my remote key fob and main look system from all doors of the vehicle. When the lock/unlock button is pushed on the vehicle's two front doors the driver's side door does not lock with the other doors on the vehicle. The driver side door is the only door that malfunctions all other doors operate efficiently. This locking malfunction occurs when the vehicle is parked. The driver's door can be locked manually by pushing the lock inwards or using the car key to manually lock/unlock the door. Please investigate this issue as the vehicle's locking system is a primary concern for the safety of the vehicle, the vehicle's owner, and the owner's property inside the vehicle. My vehicle is approximately 4 years old. I have also spoken with other Toyota Corolla owners (including year models of 2014 and 2015) who complain of the same issues.

Both the display and functionality of my 2014 Corolla's bluetooth radio navigation unit suddenly stopped working and it appears to be in a never-ending reboot cycle. A picture of the unit appears on the screen with a loading bar underneath it as if it's trying to update its software. However, regardless of how far the loading bar gets, the screen will eventually turn black and start the reboot process all over again. This happens continuously without it ever completing the process, rendering my entire bluetooth radio navigation unit completely useless. Not even the usb charger or aux input will work. After doing some research it turns out to be a very common issue for 2014 Corollas and it largely began happening right after the vehicles' 36 month warranty period ended. I believe Toyota has already released a technical service bulletin in regards to the matter (tsb 0172.16). It's also a huge safety issue. I bought this car when I moved to California so that I would have the ability to navigate hands free and safely talk on the phone in emergency situations'per the wireless communications device law in California. Now because of this hardware issue, my safety is being jeopardized. Also, because the screen is constantly rebooting, it keeps flashing on and off while I am driving'making it a significant distraction when driving at night.

The maintenance light stays on and won't reset after the 15000 mile oil change. After 16000 miles the horn stopped working. At 16900 miles on 08/07/2018 the driver airbag light came on and stayed on, and the steering wheel cover where the airbag is is loose. The brakes and alignment have been checked and are good, but sometimes the wheels lock and the car doesn't brake well, as if the antilock system stopped working.
