It was Thanksgiving day and my wife went out for groceries, she pulled into our driveway and was going 1 mph when the engine revved up and the car was thrust forward. She wound going through our fence and 35 feet into the backyard. This was a typical case our slow speed acceleration. We called Toyota Corporation, claimed there was no problem with the car after they towed it back to the dealer. We paid cash for a car that we cannot use because of the danger involved. They wouldn't give us a loner car and would not repair the broken side view mirror and under body damage and our fence. We are out of $21,000 and we do not have a car, My wife is traumatized.
Update from Dec 23, 2014: Our car had only 950 miles on it. Toyota claims there was no problem and now we have a car that might be a death trap. We have no car and we are out $21,000. Lemon Law lawyers won't take the case because there has to forensic evidence to support our case. I had my insurance company come out and take pictures and investigate. They say the tire tracks indicate that my wife was trying to stop the car but it wouldn't stop. The police came and they took pictures and we have a police report. This stinks to high heaven!! No support from Toyota, no lawyers willing to take the case, we have to go it alone! It has been 24 days and we have no car and we are paying insurance on car we can't drive!!!
