I purchased the car new but have never seen this website before.

After purchasing the car I found several "flaws" which would have stopped me from buying it. Unfortunately, it was beyond the "return" date. My fault for rushing.

I'll do one problem at a time as requested.

I had to install new bulbs for the plate lights in my 2003 Camry. I never really noticed the handle use to get out of the trunk. It was no problem to remove.

The next day I decided to vacuum the trunk of my Corolla and noticed there was no handle in the trunk. My wife and I have one of the wireless keys with a button to open the trunk. Heaven forbid having a separate key for the trunk. The car does have an interior latch release on the floor of the drivers side.

I went through the manual and all that was mentioned was the handle inside the trunk.

Looking on line I found that trunk handles became mandatory in 2001. It became a mandate because about 12 child died accidentally in one year (I don't remember the year). However, there was an out for the car companies if they created some device that would sense someone in the trunk automatically (or some such gizmo). Nothing like that is mentioned in the manual as well.

I can come up with a relatively complex scenario for someone, especially a child, could accidentally be a trunk with no one around with a key and no access to an interior latch release. I may have done my VIN number search incorrectly but I believe it was made in Canada as a passenger car for Europe. Please check my research to the the trunk handle alternative as well as the VIN number.

Thanks everyone!
