At the beginning of this week my Bluetooth wasn't working properly as when I called or someone called me it sounded like they were in a tin can or mile away. I started troubleshooting with the dealership by first unpairing and re-pairing phone and also had a service tech try it to no avail. He then suggested to bring it back to have an update performed if needed on the Bluetooth system. No update was needed.

Then when I got home, I disconnected the negative cable from battery for 30 mins to give a hard reboot. That also didn't work. I then went for the appointment to find out the front door speakers are not playing any sound, only the front tweeters and the back speakers. The service tech came to me and said we can either repair the wiring harness or replace the lines at a quote of $700 CAD + tax. The tech didn't take the door panel off and said we would need to test the speakers after the wiring harness is reinstalled.

I called a IRL about this and they thought that was weird because you can find out if speaker is blown or if its wiring by taking the door panel off. This part will take a week to arrive from Kentucky - which I think is ludicrous. My thing is this - how did both wiring harness fail on a 5 year old car? Shouldn't this be a recall, with the risk of fire or mold and rust?
