Toyota has installed several parts on my 2016 corolla that were previous years' parts. In previous complaints, the tires (under 11,000 miles) started to dry rot. When filing the warranty repair, the dealerships and Toyota tried to claim that it was normal. After deep investigation, it was found that the tires were actually over a YEAR older than the release of the vehicle. The tire warranty started when they were sold to Toyota, not when the car was purchased. They did the same thing on Air intake components for the Air filter system for the car. This is the 3rd issue. Since I purchased the lease in 2016. The car constantly had a check engine light. Typically, it was suggested it was a "gas cap pressure check failure". But at all of the routine inspections and services. Dealerships never did anything but clear the code and keep going. I recently went back in to do a "smoke check" as I was getting tired of the code constantly pulling the check engine light. Now, supposedly, it's the Charcol canister. Ironically enough, Toyota had a recall on those items in 2015. I'm suspecting that this part if from that recall part, as it's been an issue (within service notes) to be checked since 2016 and was never suggested or further deep dive into the issue was never done. Now that the warranty is over, I'm supposed to pay another $800+ for the service parts and labor. Which Toyota should be liable for, as I KEPT taking the care to the dealership for warranty service, yet these checks were never done. When the service is underway, I would suggest sending this part to the NHTSA to investigate the old recalled parts are in fact being installed on newer vehicles. As this would be the 3rd item that was from other older models that mysteriously appeared on my 2016 model corolla.

We discovered that there was an explosion of some sort inside the car on the passenger side, which seems to have potentially involve the air bag system and/or electrical around the system, but this is not entirely known. The car was parked at the time and had not been driven for approximately 65 hours. It appears there was a fire but we did not witness. The dash is melted leaving a gaping hole, what appears to be portions of the air bag are partially disintegrated and stuck to the ceiling, the ceiling is charred, the sun visor is melted and distorted, and hanging down, underneath the dash is also melted, and the smell in the car is absolutely stifling. The windshield is shattered in one spot, with additional cracks stemming from that point of contact. The windshield is damaged from the impact from inside the car and is pushing out. The car was locked, there is no evidence of forced entry or attempted forced entry. It has never been in a collision. The car was parked three feet away from our motorhome in the confines of our RV spot at an asphalt campground. The safety of all in the area was at risk, and furthermore, since this explosion was unprovoked, if we had been in the car at the time, it's unimaginable as to what sort of bodily damage the passengers, especially the passenger seat occupant, would have incurred. I do not believe the problem can be reproduced, but the car has yet to be inspected. I am currently awaiting insurance to take the car via tow truck to inspect it. There were no warnings, messages, or other symptoms.

While I was driving on a street, my car started to stall, and die, this has happened 3 times. It just happened today, I was driving on the street, and the engine just stopped, and car stopped running, I had to pull over and make sure it was in drive, and start it up again. I almost got hit by another car, because the engine stopped running. Another time I was driving on the street about to get on the freeway, and the car stalled, died. I checked to make sure it was in drive, adjusted it and then kept going. I called the dealer today, and will take my car there in mesa, AZ on Saturday to be checked. It seemed there was a recall for this same problem, but with Toyota Tacoma. I am really concerned about my safety! I'm driving, and all of a sudden my car just stops running and dies. The car shuts off without warning, and there are no lights or messages inside my car, to let me know what the problem is. My car is only a 2016, which I purchased new. I only have a little over 60,000 miles. The problem is unknown to me.

The air conditioner compressor after diagnostics were done is shown to be failing already and it looks like others have had similar issues. The compressor just shuts itself off and straight hot air begins blowing, which is not fun or safe. It happened suddenly in dead heat and does not give any warning signs before going out. Consumer was informed by the second diagnostic, that inside the compressor literally came apart, which results in trash in the system meaning specific hoses and condenser all must be replaced. Toyota refuses to acknowledge it as a factory fault, though I've seen where more than one Corolla has had this occur. VIN is invalid.

Transmission problem: My RPM is low and vibrates the car and loss of performance, while shifts gear improperly. I have 6 oem enhanced dtc, I can provide pictures, the important code is ECM/PCM code. ABS: Every time I hit a pothole, ABS makes grinding noise. Power steering problem: I did alignment, even after that my steering my car swerved to the left and right on highway, it's like I have to battle my car to be in the lane. Windshield wipers: The fastest level is not fast enough, also my windshield becomes like oilish, like it's hard to wipe my windshield, there are times in the heavy rain, lottery I could lose my way out, I slow down in case I hit something at least it will be minor damage.

When going over small bumps, ditches, or any abrasions my brakes skid and keeps going and I have to swerve or go around to find solid road to stop my car. It happens all the time not occasionally. I've had my brakes inspected by pep boy, and my personal mechanics that I trust and they say the brakes and rotors are perfect. I'm not sure what's the cause. It's been happening since I got the vehicle, I figured I should just drive slow but it doesn't help and I recently almost rear ended another vehicle due to the issue.

My SRS airbag warning light came on out of nowhere. Shortly after that my steering wheel continually clicks when I turn it. And within the same day now my horn stopped working as well as all of the buttons on the steering wheel no longer work including the cruise control. The light never went away and the functions of the steering wheel no longer work when there is no cause or reason for this to happen.

The car start up to behave different before 5.000 miles.when accelerating the car was getting first very high RPM, before starting to pick up speed, experiencing some important delays in response.I was trying to address this with Toyota of york and the specialists explained to me about principles of cvt transmission and I was pushed back.at 10.000 and 15.000 miles the car became quite lazy and I just had to go back to the services as the RPM's were not normal. Finally the computer was reset and I start up to recognize the car. In about 3 weeks the car start up to have again some important delays in response. Back to the service - the issue was not recognized the mechanics trying to convince me again about the benefits of cvt transmission...I was never informed or asked if I will be interested to buy a car with cvt transmission but now I start up to read and get familiar with it trying to accommodate and feel better about what I got.before 25.000 I was close to be involved in 2 incidents when my car had major delay in response-trying to avoid and get out of a situation, my car first got to very high RPM and only after that, decided to accelerate, which I find very unsafe and I got panicked.in both situations I realize that this car is not able to get me out of an emergency situation. Around 25.000miles I discussed again with the mechanics, this time explaining safety concerns.the mechanics were sympathetic with what I experience but again I was told that I can not expect more from a cvt transmission if I want to get good gas and long life from a car.my wife was driving this car only 4 times. She felt very uncomfortable with this car's capacity to engage in different situations on the high way.in other words, this car will first save the cvt transmission, will protect the engine and will save good gas but on priority list my family life will come after.

We bought a new 2016 Toyota Corolla and have a problem with rodents getting in it. We read up on it and it is caused by the materials used. The person I spoke at Toyota said they use peanut based lubricant. This apparently is know by Toyota yet they continue to use it. What can be done? I am tired of being told nothing can be done.

The navigation/ back up screen is not visible with polarized sunglasses except by tilting ones head at a 45 degree angle. Manufacturers response is " have submitted the information to Toyota and have heard back that this condition is a known concern with polarized sunglasses as it has been seen by others as well.
