problem #1

Dec 122024

Corolla LE 1.8L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 38,000 miles

Both front struts started leaking around 38,000 miles. Roads are not good where I live but the car never hit a curb, large pot hole, or speed bump at high speed or anything of that nature. Most miles were driven with one person in the car so not a heavy load. These seem to be a common weak point on corollas. I hope they put better quality parts in moving forward. Repair bill was $1,344.68 for KYB replacements installation and alignment. Car was no longer covered by warranty.

On the bright side the ride quality is a little better than the factory setup using the following KYB struts.

SR4478 STRUT-PLUS FRONT RIGHT 7062937

SR4479 STRUT-PLUS FRONT LEFT 7062937
