Corolla LE 1.8L

2020 Corolla LE, Friday morning the AC worked great. By Friday Afternoon it was blowing hot. Dealer found a leaking condenser. Cost to leak test, replace condenser, and recharge system was $2177. The condenser was bad enough but this new R-1234YF refrigerant is prohibitively expensive. We are talking $500 to fill it back up to find the leak and then another $500 to recharge after the repair! I have owned many cars and I have never had a problem with an AC system on a vehicle that was only 3 years old or a vehicle with less than 75K miles. There has to be a design flaw here. I was floored by the cost so I called another dealer to ask for a quote and they were this high as well. I have replaced turbochargers and transmissions cheaper than this!
