Highlander Limited 3.0L V6

The problem is simple. The driver's side sun visor will not stay put - instead of staying where you put it, it falls down. In some cases, even when you have it stowed all the way up against the ceiling it will fall down.

I've seen this same problem reported by many Highlander owners on the web, and Toyota has refused to admit there is a defect or do anything about it. (for example, see http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2003/toyota/highlander/visibility/problem.aspx) The only repair they say is possible is to replace the sun visor, including the electronic unit (homelink) for opening your garage door, etc. The problem is that Toyota charges in the range of $650-$750 to replace the one sun visor !!! That is, of course, outrageous - especially for something that is clearly a Toyota defect.

My visor on drivers side keeps falling down. This is the second time it has been a problem. The first time it was covered for replacement with my extended warranty. Now it has happened again. The dealer said it would be $825.00 to replace it.
