Highlander LE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

Started getting a significant vibration when reaching speeds of 55 mph or more. It seemed to occur when I would be at a consistent speed and then accelerated. The vibration was violent and through the whole vehicle. Had to lay off the gas and decrease speed to get the vibration to stop. I have a 2006 Highlander with 70K miles. I took it to the dealership and found nothing with a visual inspection. They recommended balancing the tires which I did at first. It didn't work and I took it back to the dealer. This time they re-balanced the tires and gave me a refund for the first balance. The still couldn't fix it. Then they suggested it might be the tires. The radial belts could be overlapping in the tire to cause the vibration. So I bought new tires. When they did the alignment and tested the vehicle with the new tires the vibration was still there at 40 mph. So the dealer kept my highlander for a week to test it. Finally they said it was another defective NEW tire with radial belts overlap. I just got the car back so I really don't know if it's fixed or not until I put some more highway miles on it.

Highlander 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,700 miles

I have vibration in front two wheels on my Toyota 2006 Highlander. I have replaced the tires, rims, and two alignments, still the same problem before and after. The left rear tire put to the left. The problem always there. The vehicle does go in a straight line. I can feel the vibration in the steering wheel. My local Toyota dealership tech road tested the vehicle with me felt the same vibration. The Vibration starts around 55 mph and increases as the vehicle goes fast. The dealership physically inspected the vehicle and found no problem. What shell I do?
