Highlander V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,678 miles

After spending $560.00 to put new brakes on my 2008 Highlander with 18,000 miles on it I am faced with the same problem "AGAIN" at 29,600 miles. The right front rotor is chewed up.The solution according to the dealer ( Romano Toyota in Syracuse,N.Y.) is to bring the vehicle in every year and pay them a couple of hundred dollars to take apart and clean the brakes. If I have to do this then there is obviously a problem with the brakes themselves which Toyota denies.Apparently it is my fault because I only drive the vehicle 5000 miles per year.So the bottom line is "the less you drive the vehicle, the more maintenance it needs" What A Bunch Of CRAP!

Highlander V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,620 miles

After 18,620 miles my Highlanders rotors were all chewed up as if the pads were worn out but the pads were still good.Toyota paid for the rotors but it still cost me $560.00 for the brake repair job. This "NEVER" should have happened after 2 years and 18,000 miles.Their solution is for me to bring the vehicle in every year to take apart the brakes and clean them at a significant cost to me.If this needs to be done yearly than there is problem with the brakes and they should fix the problem, not expect me to become their cash cow.
