The cover panel on my new 2014 Toyota LE Highlander came apart shortly after having it PermaPlated in May (purchased April 2014). Since that first incident on May 27, 2014 through September 2, 2014 that same part has broken and been replaced by the dealership five times. At time 4, I did let the Service Manager of the dealership know if the replacement part didn't work, again, they would have to replace the seat. SM suggested and agreed to either have a "specialist" look into the issue or see about having the seat replaced. This is the part that covers the switches on the side the driver's seat.
While Toyota of Concord said that they would replace the seat in July, Toyota now refuses to replace the seat. Their "specialist" replaced the part on Sept. 2. The same part broke, again, while the car was being wiped-down at the car wash on September 6th. The part has gone through several processes: cracking at the front-left corner to the entire panel falling away from the panel and at the rear of the seat (they call that part towards the rear of the panel (small plastic covering) decorative. Has any one had and issue with this part of your Highlander breaking, coming apart? Purchased NEW. Suggestions other than arbitration?

The cover panel on my 2014 Toyota Highlander limited platinum began pulling away from the seat shortly after I purchased the SUV. The part finally broke 3-3-2016. I think the part is not sturdy enough (made of plastic) I will be taking the SUV to the dealer next week.
