While driving the navigation/radio will freeze and become unresponsive. The radio will then reboot and reset all settings back to default. There are numerous complaints on various forums. I asked the Toyota dealer to fix this issue. The dealer said they would have to analyze and since the mileage was 39K and not under 36K, it would not be covered under warranty. We thought it may be related to the GPS software, but, this happens whether using the GPS or not. So there has to be an issue with the premium audio system installed. Toyota needs to accept responsibility for this and fix given the number of other complaints with the same issue. This issue randomly occurs and is still an issue. One online suggestion was to update the software and the mapping data. I saw another solution to update the firmware. This should be Toyotas issue to fix.

While driving the audio , navigation screens went blank , it stayed blank for about 2 to 5 min and than reset itself
This kept happening every 5 to 10 min. while on a road trip that took approx 2 hours. Taking it to the dealer this coming 1-5-2017, have owned the car since March of 2015

I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited and with only 49,700 miles on it and all the apps, home screen, phone connection, and navigation no longer can be accessed. I took it into the Toyota dealership nearby and they told me to replace the radio and screen components it will cost me $4800!!! Are you kidding me??? I can see by other complaints that this is not an isolated issue, and I think Toyota should offer a recall to replace this problem. I am deeply disappointed with Toyota and hopefully, they will fix this problem for us.
