Highlander SE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

What the heck?! I drove my 2018 Highlander with 47,000 miles on it 2 miles to church today. When I tried to restart it I got a "low power brake" message. The car wouldn't start!! Luckily I was in a parking lot which is where I had to leave my car. Pouring down rain and no cell service in the area. Tried over and over to get it to start. This car has been a lemon since I got it - problem after problem after problem. What a crappy car.

braking power low

My husband is in a nursing home with dementia, so I must be able to count on my car. I don't have anyone to help me with car issues. I know our local Toyota will take good care of me, because they always have and I trust them, but I need the Toyota manufacturer to figure out how to fix this issue once and all and not leave us vulnerable to crashes on the highway where serious injuries could occur. I am blessed that mine failed in my driveway, but it could have so easily been on a busy highway.

The gentleman who towed my car said all kinds of mechanical issues were occurring with the original error message (clicks, other messages, etc), but I am a 72 year old grandmother and do not have sufficient knowledge of the other quirks to report them separately---sorry!

Thank you for this site where we can report this issues and know we are not alone.
