Took car in twice before the November visit, Tech said "couldn't duplicate trouble". Finally in Nov 2024, agreed there was a problem, but only (supposedly) replaced the torque converter. Returned car, Engine lite came on after 15 mi. Returned to dealer, the upper O2 sensor mysteriously went bad while at shop.
Picked car up (Glove box was laying on the floor). Started home after 15 mi. Engine light & multiple warning mssgs appeared including "catastrophic failure". Svc writer said the wiring harness was messed up with some broken & shorted wires causing several blown fuses. Tech failed to secure belly pan correctly.
The we didn't return, just let it drag. Trans got worse, & returned to dealership. Tech could not confirm the trans trouble because of the noise from the belly pan. $1,200 to replace the pan. The Svc mgr. road with me and said he could feel & hear the problem. Tech still claimed he cannot feel nor hear the vibration. Now I can see the Tach gain 200 RPM when the vibe starts and quickly drops back when the vibe quits.
I now have less than 10,000 mi. left on warranty; it seems they are stalling so Toyota warranty won't have to pay for a transmission.
Vibration, reverberating thru car @ 103,000 mi
