I just had this car in for a full tune-up a month ago for $ 800. They advised that I get a new battery (not the hybrid one). I followed their advise and I think that is what caused my inverter to fail. The car is dead in the water without this repair. This is a $40k car that is 4 years old. The internet is full of people reporting this problem on the 2006 Highlander hybrid but of course, Toyota will not admit any defect.... are generously willing to give me $ 6000. as a trade-in. This makes me sick!!! A Toyota is expected to last longer than this !!!
