check vsc system light on

I have a 2007 Toyota Highlander hybrid limited and the VSC,ABS, E brake and the traction control light on and horrible buzzing noise all the time. Plus it is hard to press on my brakes. I have looked up everything about it and it's saying it's the actuator so I googled recalls on it and from what I'm seeing and hearing the recall warranty is no longer in affect. Well, this is a safety hazard and could end up putting me and my family in danger.

This is the only means of transportation we have. Toyota needs to do another recall on this cause I'm disabled and I can't afford over 3,000 to get this fixed. I guess Toyota is not worried about people's safety cause if they were they would do a lifetime warranty on this problem cause from what I'm seeing, there's a lot more people with exact same problem I'm having. I hope Toyota can do another recall so people's lives won't be in danger and they fix this problem.

Others with this problem, please call NHTSA and FTC at 877-382-4357. LETS FIGHT BACK AND GET A RECALL IMPLEMENTED! Basically the same issue that everyone who owns this vehicle has:

Here is the note I sent to my senator:

I have a problem with Toyota and the NHTSA. I have found an issue that should have been a recall but instead Toyota skirted the issue by extending the warranty to a point where they knew the safety failure of the ABS brake system would fail outside of those parameters. Also, from what I can tell no one received the letter for the extended warranty. So this is about to become a huge issue with the 2007 Highlander and other vehicles made around this time period, since they used this faulty system in quite a few of the vehicles. The NHTSA says Toyota was allowed to do the "phone" extended warranty at the time and it was their right to do so. However, this should have and still needs to be a recall situation. There are many complaints at the NHTSA, and here is another link where you can see real Americans describing this horrific issue.

Please help me to hold Toyota's feet to the fire and save thousands of Americans from brake failure deaths.

More brake problems! All my lights came on on the weekend on my dash, the traction light, lots of !s in triangles and the Check System VSC warning and the ABS warning. I took it to the Toyota service place here and was told it's very serious and my brakes could last between 15 hours and 2 weeks, or "I don't know" - which means I'm terrified to drive it. Brakes on this vehicle have always been squishy. A couple of months ago I had my brakes fixed and the radiator which was inexplicably completely blown out, and now this with an estimate of fixing it at about $2500. I can't afford to keep fixing this car. It was a wonderful used car for one year and then things started to go wrong with it, with brakes always being the #1 problem which has worried me because they just don't work like normal brakes. Lately the battery won't charge with this new problem so I'm burning gas like it's a regular car. I can't believe it costs this much to fix something like this. I feel ripped off by Toyota. This vehicle is a money pit! (This is my first Toyota, and last). From reading about it online, this is a known problem with the 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid so why isn't Toyota recalling this ABS part?

I am the third owner of a 07 Highlander Hybrid which has 104k miles. One day driving the vehicle several lights appeared on the dash instrument panel. Check VSC system came on, brakes pedal immediately became hard when pressed. Pulled over called AAA car was towed to Headquarter Toyota in Miami. Service adviser explained this is a common problem on this vehicle. Part is ABS pump cost is $2,500. Toyota is responsible for this defect. Toyota has done nothing to help the buyers of this vehicle.
