Highlander Hybrid Limited 3.3L

ABS Problems from Toyota since 2010, they did a recall, but only on Camry and Prius, did not include the Highlander Hybrid or Lexus RX400h, Part number 44510-48080, cost of $1,700.00 plus labor off $800.00, for a total cost of $2,500.00 USD at the dealer cost. On a video on youtube.com, Toyota President quoted that he will try to fix the problem with the software on the ABS system on the cars, but has fail, the problem still exist and Toyota is washing their hands on the issue since people are still getting into accidents due to this problem. I am one of the unlucky people that own this garbage of a car, can not drive it at all since it does not have braking.

Tried to have Toyota fix the problem at Delray Toyota and was flat out deny for the repairs under a recall. Called the corporate office and got the same response. To all of you that are reading this, DO NOT BUY A TOYOTA, unless you want to die in the process. They do not seem to care for their customers at all. The ABS unit has to be replaced due to loss of pressure in the system, the pump works to the point that burns out and you lose any braking capability and you can get in to an accident where you may kill someone. This problem is for 2006 to 2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrids and 2010 to 2016 Lexus RX400h RX450h models. If you do not have the problem now, you will have it in the future, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARS at all cost.

Toyota does not want to mail you a letter denying the recall or to cover something for the problem, the best solution is to get an attorney and do a mass law sue against them for not fixing the issue. One reason why they do not want to do anything is due to the amount of people that purchase this models. The number is so low that if you compare this to the amount of buyers for Camry and Prius is far more than this one, so they just want you to fade away and dye first so they don't have to worry until later.

This problem affects the performance of the Hybrid motor in fuel economy, Engine, A/C System, the warning lights, the beeping noise, etc.

This are the error codes that I got from the Techstream Software:

ABS/VSC/TRC C1252 Brake Booster Pump Motor on Time Abnormally Long C1256 Accumulator Low Pressure C1311 Open Circuit in Main Relay 1 C1313 Open Circuit in Main Relay 2 C1377 Capacitor C1391 Adnormal Leak in Accumulator

The good news! But not from Toyota!

I found a guy in California that rebuilts the ABS units for $850.00 as off 5/16/2018, but you will have to mail the item to him and wait about a week to get it back, the problem is that you have to get a mechanic that knows how to work on this systems, can take it off and put it back with the computer that is used to program the ABS, with the correct pressure, etc.. I found him on ebay under seller: l-l4248, located in Rancho Corboba, CA. His listing:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-RX450h-ABS-Actuator-Repair-Service-Parts-Number-44510-48080-/173307524114?ul_noapp=true&nma=true&si=Hl4Iah9saRelwex0rO70pUphhTw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Item Number:173307524114

FYI, the listing ended so you may have a problem pulling it, but you can try to send him a message. I am making plans to send it to him soon and will update you thru this site to see if it works.

But let my say this, I am not buying another Toyota in the future and I own 2 other Toyota cars that do not have this problems. I guess that Toyota is not the same company as it was before, their quality is going down the hill for the cost of a few lives just for being CHEAP!

So, now you pay more for a cheap garbage car!
